A gentleman's unusual pocket watch with quarter hour/hour self strike "Grande Sonnerie"


Case: rose gold, polished, reeded band, slide for striking or silence at "2", glazed movement with hinge. Dial: enamel, Arabic "Breguet" numerals, blued Breguet hands. Movm.: divided 1/2 plate movement, keywind, gilt, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, 2 barrels, integrated rack strike with polished steel levers, gold ring balance.

A nearly identical watch was sold by Urban Jürgensen in 1808. This watch is illustrated and described in Urban Juergensen & Soenner by John M. R. Knudsen, Copenhagen 2003, page 91.
