Omega, Swiss

, Movement No. 9384225, Case No. 9555367, Cal. 33.3 CHRO T2, 37 mm, circa 1944

A gentleman’s wristwatch with single button chronograph and tachymeter function in the military design of the early 1940s

Case: steel, push back, oval chronograph pusher, bezel with inlaid Arabic numerals. Dial: black, Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds, 30 min. counter, tachy scale, telemeter scale, alpha hands. Movm.: 1/2 plate movement, rhodium-plated, ground, 17 jewels, finely ground chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, screw compensation balance.

Early Omega chronographs in steel cases with oval chronograph pushers are very rare today and highly coveted by the collectors. This watch is certainly one of the most sought after models – its appeal lies in the unique combination of its features: a magnificently aged black dial, finely executed chronograph scales and discreet Arabic numerals in union with original Alpha hands, a steel case in very good condition.

Similar watches are described and illustrated in: "Omega" by Marco Richon, Bienne 2007, page 532ff.
