, Case No. 2485, 57 mm, 105 g, circa 1815A gentleman's unique, very fine quarter repeating pocket watch with pin-wheel escapement. We know of just only one other pocket watch fitted with this combination of pin wheel escapement and repeater mechanism
Case: 18k rose gold, polished, reeded band, pusher for repetition via pendant, case maker punch mark Greek letter Phi and "PG". Dial: enamel, Arabic numerals, blued Breguet hands. Movm.: 1/2 plate movement, keywind, florally hand-engraved, gilt, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, going barrel, pin-wheel escapement, three-arm steel balance.
The previously mentioned other known exemplar is signed "Carl Zademach à Leipzig" and contains almost identical engraved decorative elements on the clockwork. Furthermore the work of the construction is very similar.
