A rare verge pocket watch with alarm in a leather-covered outer protective case


Case: outer case - silver, leather-covered, applied stud decoration, sound holes, large lateral hinge. Inner case - silver, around the edge open work decoration and engravings of birds, foliage, scrollwork and two cartouches with engraved landscapes, rear bell, seven-piece hinge. Dial: silver, Champlevé, inlaid radial Roman hours, central alarm disc with Arabic numerals, Poker & Beetle hands. Movm.: fine full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, applied engraved and open work ornaments, chain/fusee, 2 hammers, baluster movement pillars, steel balance, open work balance cock with fine floral engravigs and mascaron, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
