Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, bimetallic chronometer balance (24 mm) with 4 dimension limiting screws, blued freesprung helical balance spring, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
Barwise Watchmaking family
A well known dynasty of watchmakers, descendent of Lott Barwise of Cockermouth (q.v.). John Barwise senior had his business in St Martins Lane and took his sons into partnership in 1819.
