This is a lot of a former auction!

Patek Philippe & Cie. Genève, Suisse

, Movement No. 125704, Case No. 236335, 55 mm, 130 g, circa 1906

A gentleman's large Geneva pocket watch with corresponding watch chain

Case: 18k rose gold. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, gold screw compensation balance.

Even though this piece shows all the characteristics of a "Chronometro Gondolo" such as wolftooth winding wheels, patent signature "Pat. Jan. 13, 1891", gold train and counterpoised "Moustache" lever, the watch was never delivered to Gondolo & Labouriau in Rio de Janeiro. Between 1902 and 1930 Patek Philippe produced an exclusive collection specially for the renowned Brazilian watch resellers. The prestige of the Patek brand was such that the word "Patek" was regarded as a synonym for any watch, regardless whether it was made by Patek Philippe or not.
Case: very good, slightly worn
Dial: very good
Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended
