Patek Philippe & Cie. Genève

, Movement No. 112413, Case No. 234879, 54 mm, 163 g, circa 1905

A gentleman's important, very fine, astronomical Geneva pocket watch with minute repeater, perpetual calendar, moon phase and split seconds chronograph, made for Shreve, Crump & Low Co. - with Patek Philippe mahogany box

Case: 18k gold, polished, monogrammed, numbered and signed gold dome, split-seconds chronograph buttons at "10" and in the crown, both locked by a sliding lever in the band. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, indications for day and month, red date indicator, moon phase with cobalt blue enamelled golden moon phase disc and golden moon and stars, moon age, blued spade hands. Movm.: bridge movement, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, very finely ground and bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance, index spring fine adjusting device, counterpoised lever.

This intricate pocket watch by Patek Philippe is not only a sophisticated collector’s piece but also a fantastic asset. To the best of our knowledge, Patek Philippe only ever produced about 70 examples of this type.
The watch is noticeably heavy for a Lepine watch (163 g) and also very large, making for a wonderfully comfortable feel when the watch is held. For all its many indications, the dial is elegant and clear-cut. The movement is in pristine original condition.

Shreve, Crump & Low were founded in 1796 and are based in Boston, Massachusetts; the company is the longest-standing supplier of high value gold and silver wares as well as luxury goods in North America. Shreve, Crump & Low had close relations with Patek Philippe for decades; the company is also responsible for a number of important trophies such as the Davis Cup trophy and the Cy Young Award.
