Patek Philippe & Co. à Genève, Movement No. 862721, Case No. 625388, Ref. 130, Cal. 13''', 33 mm, circa 1941
A gentleman's important and extremely rare, pink gold Geneva wristwatch with chronograph, 30 minute counter and salmon-coloured dial, sold on February 4, 1942 - with Patek Philippe excerpt from the archives dated October 22, 1988 and Patek Philippe extract from the archives
Case: 18k pink gold, push back, 18k gold buckle. Dial: pink gilt, satined, applied gold indexes/Arabic numerals, enamelled tachy scale. Movm.: bridge movement, Glucydur screw balance.
This wristwatch ref. 130 dates from 1941 and is without doubt one of the most desirable collector's pieces from the elegant Patek Philippe chronograph range. The reference was first produced in 1934 in different models (yellow, rose and white gold, steel; as double pusher and, in rare cases, single pusher chronographs). The most beautifully elegant variant is probably this red gold model with its combination of a salmon-coloured dial and blued chronograph hands.
Surely this is a piece that makes the heart of any experienced collector beat faster - the original condition of the watch with its charmingly aged pink gold dial, the slightly raised enamel scales and inscriptions as well as the clearly visible punch marks is indeed a rare stroke of luck.
