A beautiful and precious Belle Epoque gold lorgnette, studded with diamonds and rubies
Case: 18k gold / gilt brass, applied flower tendrils and foliage, diamonds and ruby cabochons. The central middle part with horn. Scratched signature "Carolyn".
This glamourous lorgnette is striking in the way the precious materials have been used to create an exquisitely finished masterpiece: amidst tendrils and leaves, the diamonds gently wind their way around each of the two lenses and are, alternating between top and bottom, additionally decorated with blazing ruby cabochons. A small border of diamonds graces the upper, "looking" part of the lorgnette.
