Case: 14k rose gold, polished, inner case engraved, pierced. Dial: enamel. Movm.: full plate movement, 2 hammers, rear bell, chain/fusee.
This is an early timekeeper by Urban Juergensen (the father) with a rare "á tact" and "á toc" repeater. The repeater mechanism has three options – it can be muted, strike on a bell or on the inside of the case.
Jörgen Jürgensen (1748-1811)
He was the father of the renowned watchmaker Urban Juergensen; he started a watchmaking factory in Kopenhagen in 1775 and went into partnership with Isaac Larpent in 1780. From then on the company operated under the name "Larpent & Juergensen" in Roskilde.
