Cartier à Paris, "Tonneau Cintrèe"

, Movement No. 78-1, Case No. A 109653, Cal. 2512-1, 26 x 46 mm, circa 1988

A gentleman's elegant, tonneau-shaped platinum wristwatch with engine-turned dial - with original box and Cartier certificate

Case: platinum, platinum back, screws on the band, crown set with onyx cabochon, 18k white gold deployant clasp. Dial: silvered, engine-turned. Movm.: bridge movement, signed: Cartier, Glucydur balance.

Cartier first introduced the "Tonneau" wristwatch in 1906; the word tonneau or "barrel" alludes to the unusual shape of the watch. The elegantly curved elongate design looks good on any wrist, be it a distinguished male or an elegant female.
#42394
Case: very good, slightly worn
Dial: as new
Movm.: as new, capable of running
