Case: gold "à trois couleurs", silver and gilt brass. Dial: enamel. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, three-arm brass balance.
This high quality Geneva verge pocket watch has a finely engraved three-colour gold band and the bezel on the front is studded with paste stones. The back is decorated with a marvellous painted medallion showing a galant scene inside a border of translucent enamelling that is framed by applied enamel ornaments and paste stones.
Esquivillon & De Choudens
Geneva watchmaker Jacques Dechoudens (1728-1801) and brothers Joseph Esquivillon (1714-1798), Jean François Esquivillon (1733-1813) and Gédéon-François Esquivillon (1717-1799) founded a workshop which produced high quality verge pocket watches.
