A remarkable gold enamel hunting case pocket watch Case: gold enamel. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, keywind, gold ring balance, regulation with bimetallic temperature compensation slat.
This delicate pocket watch is striking with its marvellous enamel colours that have lost none of their brilliance in almost two centuries. The front shows a scene with two ladies and a small boy playing under rose bushes in a park. The back is decorated with an alpine landscape scene nearby Grenoble: an angler on a mountain stream with a bridge and farm buildings before Monte Aiguille in the background. Both enamel medallions are framed by translucent cobalt blue borders with engraved floral gold ornaments.
