"Full Set" - An automatic Geneva steel wristwatch "Nautilus" in near mint condition, with centre seconds and date - sold on November 27th, 2006 - with original box, leather wallet, original certificate, brochures and operating instructions

In 1976 Patek Philippe launched its first Nautilus model. At this time, luxury sports watches are expected to be as thin as possible, so this large watch with its brawny ship's porthole design is completely novel. The first model of the collection is the Ref. 3700/1; a Swiss patent is awarded for its water-resistant case (up to 120 meters).
Sales figures, however, did not meet expectations and the Nautilus remained on the shelves. This has fundamentally changed in the meantime and today the shops have to keep waiting lists because the watch is so highly sought after. Reference 5711 was launched in 2006 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary. While the watch retains the traditional aesthetic design of the "Jumbo Nautilus", several new features have been added – the model is now fitted with a central second, a date window and a crystal caseback that reveals the in-house automatic calibre 315/290.
