Glashütte Original, Glashütte i/SA, "PanoLunarTourbillon", Movement No. 033, Case No. 0007, Ref. 1-93-02-05-05-50, Cal. GUB 93-02, 40 mm, circa 2013
An automatic wristwatch in mint condition, with panorama date, flying tourbillon, moon phase and moon age - with original box, certificate and operating instructions
Case: 18k pink gold, screwed on glazed back, original 18k pink gold deployant clasp. Dial: silvered, partly engine-turned.
This exclusive timepiece features a combination of three complications that Glashütte Original has always been closely affiliated with: the distinctive panorama date, the elegant style of the moon phase indication and the flying tourbillon invented by Alfred Helwig in 1920, which was further developed by the company and used in selected model ranges by the company. The positions of the displays were chosen according to golden ratio proportions and allow for perfect readability because they do not overlap.
The main display has a central guilloche pattern and is positioned on the left part of the dial in line with the flying tourbillon. The blued tip of one of the carriage arms serves as a second hand pointing to the printed outer scale and is also a typical feature. The moonphase appears as a shiny golden, slightly curved plate on a dark blue disc decorated with stars that is displayed in a semicircular opening. It is positioned in the right upper section of the dial and accompanied by a moon age indication in a separate, outer scale. The generous red gold case with a distinctively slim bezel lends this timepiece launched in 2017 a particularly modern appeal. The screwed-on sapphire glass back reveals the self-winding calibre 93-02 with a 48-hour power reserve and a fully integrated moon phase mechanism. The open-work rotor with a 21k gold weight is decorated with the company’s typical double G logo and mounted in an off-centre position.
