Non Magnetic Watch Co., Swiss, Movement No. 7724, Case No. 465, 34 mm, 40 g, circa 1890
A lady's charming pocket watch, studded with diamonds, sapphires and half-pearls with balance and spring according to Paillard's patent
Case: 18k gold, diamonds, sapphires and half-pearls. Dial: enamel, engine-turned and translucent red enamelled, gold paillons, Roman hours against a white ground, Louis XVI hands. Movm.: bridge movement, "Paillard's Patent Balance and Spring", club-tooth lever escapement, antimagnetic gold screw compensation balance and palladium spring after Paillard's Patent.
The condition of this small pocket watch can be described as all but new: The guilloche pattern on the dial is still "crisp", the enameling and the gemstones are gleaming and the pearls have a gentle lustre. The movement is in fine working condition. Altogether this is a delicate and beautiful treasure which has always been treated as such by its wearer.
