Rectangular brass movement, engraved, applied foliate scroll ornaments, chain/fusee, 3 hammers/1 bell, verge escapement, three-arm ring balance.

The ebonized and moulded rectangular body is supported by four brass disc feet. Front and back with glass panels and pierced brass grills on the sides, red fabric lining. Inverted bell top with carrying handle surrounded by four turned finials; central pusher for the alarm.
The brass dial is intricately embellished with engraved acanthus leaves and chasing. Roman hours and Arabic minutes on an applied silver chapter ring. A central silver alarm disc is mounted on a gilt brass backplate engraved "Andreas Glenck". The spandrels of the brass dial are ornamented with fabric-lined gilt brass grills.
Bohemian watch and clockmaker Andreas Glenck (also known as Andre Glenec, Glenk or Klenck) is known to have worked in Prague in the early 18th century. Today his timepieces are held by private collections and in several museums.
