Product Description

Around 1870, the Favre-Brandt company in Le Locle was specialising in the export of watches and watch movements. James Favre-Brandt, one of the company members, relocated to Japan in 1863 and gained a reputation for his contributions to establishing the horological industry in Japan.
In 1877 L. A. Favre-Brandt moved to Geneva; a year later they won a silver medal at the World Exhibition in Paris. L. A. Favre-Brandt also registered as maker of watch movements under the brand name "Montauk Watch Co.".
