From May 1945 on, cases for pilot’s watches that had remained in stock were reworked as pocket watch cases; however, only very few of these matte grey steel pocket watches made by A. Lange und Söhne were ever sold. The cases were unnumbered and not inscribed with the company logo.

The conversion to a pocket watch required not only a reworking of the case, the pendant, the bow and the winding crown; the dial also had to be turned by 90° and remounted with a new metal ring. According to current information, only a two-digit number of these pocket watches were made.
