The case of this classic Elysée is platinum-plated, the blue dial features nickel-plated Arabic numerals and indexes. The watch is the immediate successor of the Atmos V Classic calibre 526 from the 1950s.
The Atmos (for atmospheric clock) takes its energy from from the expansion and contraction of a capsule filled with ethyl chloride gas that responds to changes in temperature and barometric pressure. The produced energy winds the mainspring. According to the makers of the clock, a temperature difference of 1 Kelvin creates a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.
