Saud ibn Abd al-Aziz (1902-1969) was the son of the founder of Saudi Arabia. As the second king, he ruled Saudi Arabia from 1953-1964.
The royal house of Saudi Arabia ordered several special editions from a number of Swiss brands such as Longines, Vacheron & Constantin, Omega, Universal, Zodiac, Movado, Piaget and Patek Philippe. The watches were given as personal gifts from the king or the crown prince in recognition of outstanding services.
This timepiece is of outstanding quality. The unusual lugs and the perfectly preserved colour portrait on the off-white enamel badge make the watch a magnificent example of supreme craftsmanship.
