The watch is based on the Tank Cintrée, an elongated, gently curved variation of the Cartier Tank, which launched in 1921. The distinctive "Tank Cintrée Dual Time" displays two time zones on its dial and is fitted with two manual-wind movements calibre ETA 2412. The upper section of the dial (for the first time zone) features the classic Tank configuration with large, black-finished Roman numerals. The lower part of the dial, the second time zone, shows black painted markers and Roman quarters. The name "Cartier" is positioned between the two subsidiary dials and the word "Paris" is inscribed above the second time zone’s 6 o’clock position.
The "Tank Cintrée Dual Time" was also available as CPCP version (Collection Privée Cartier Paris) and produced in various configurations. Some of them were available in certain countries only or were launched to commemorate special occasions. These models featured individual distinctive marks such as a guilloche rose on the dial. They were introduced in limited series of 100 examples each in rose and white gold and produced specially for the Asian market.
