A fine, heavy minute repeating hunting case pocket watch
Case: 18k pink gold, engraved monogram on the front and back lid, à goutte, gold dome. Dial: enamel, radial Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds, blued spade hands. Movm.: bridge movement, ébauche: LeCoultre, German silver, "fausses côtes" decoration, adjusted, 31 jewels, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, screwed gold chatons, wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance, index spring fine adjusting device, counterpoised lever.
C. H. Meylan was founded in 1880 in Brassus. In 1894 it received the First Prize at the Geneva Observatory Timing Contest. American Waltham, at the time the largest in the world watch company, chose Meylan to design and make their repeating watches. This repeater is of the highest grade. The ebauche Meylan bought from LeCoultre but finished himself to the highest standard. The same ebauche LeCoultre supplied to Vacheron Constantin.
