An extremely decorative and high quality Empire ormulu pendulum clock with half hour strike "La Musique"
Case: oval, cranked base made of Krokean stone on six toupie feet, gilt bronze applications, central drapery with drum shaped clock. On the clock sits the personification of music shown as a lady playing the harp. In front of her is a small table with sheets of music and to her right sits Cupid, writing on a tablet; inscription: "Bouton de Rose" (which was at the time a popular piece of music by Niccolo Mussini). Dial: enamel, radial Roman numerals, pierced, engraved, gilt hands. Movm.: circular brass full plate movement, 2 barrels, 1 hammer / 1 bell, 8 day-movement, count wheel, anchor escapement, silk suspended short pendulum.
