A very rare, single-handed Geneva hour self striking verge pocket watch
Case: silver, gilt brass and copper, bezel and back side with sound holes, rear bell, large lateral hinge. Dial: silver, Champlevé style, inlaid radial Roman numerals, engraved and chased centre, blued steel single hand. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, florally pierced and engraved barrel for striking train, locking plate, silver baluster pillars, applied blued iron click work, 1 hammer, plain three-arm steel balance, very finely florally engraved, pierced balance cock.
Balthasar Faure was trained by Pierre Angely around 1683. Another watch signed by Faure is part of the Wilsdorf Collection.
