A pocket chronometer with spring detent escapement according to Earnshaw
Case: silver, "consular" case, polished, case maker punch mark "EB" (Elizabeth Barnett, Clerkenwell). Dial: enamel, radial Arabic hours, auxiliary seconds, signed, numbered, blued spade hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, signed, chain/fusee with "Harrison's maintaining power", moulded pillars, spring detent escapement, heavy compensation balance with four regulation screw nuts, freesprung helical blued balance spring, fine engraved balance cock, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
Paul Philip Barraud
Barraud was famous for his chronometers; he became a Fellow of the Clockmakers' Company (17-1813) and a Master (1810-1811). In 1838 he started a partnership with John Richard Lund, who took over the company after Barraud's death.
