A fine Glashuette hunting case pocket watch, sold on December 24,1927 to Friedrich Eilfeld company in Gröbzig for 709 reichsmarks - with original box, with original invoice and original certificate
Case: 18k gold, polished, à goutte, case design "Royal", gold dome. Dial: enamel, Arabic "Empire" numerals, auxiliary seconds, blue 24h indicator, gold Breguet hands. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, frosted, gilt, signed, screwed gold chatons, gold screw compensation balance, hand-engraved balance cock, index spring fine adjusting device, gold lever.
Watchmaker Christian Friedrich Eilfeld was born on April 22, 1868 in Groebzig; he showed an interest in all things mechanical from an early age. In 1908 Eilfeld invented a metal spinneret, the prerequisite for the production of synthetic fibres.
