A rare Baroque clock "Jesus Christ resurrected conquers the sin"
Case: oak, ebonized, gilt bronze figures. Dial: brass, firegilt, florally engraved, silvered chapter ring. Movm.: rectangular-shaped brass movement, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, front pendulum.
The black base is flanked by volutes and columns and shows the globe with a finely painted statue of Christ on it, with the serpent, a symbol of evil and sin, under his feet. The movement plate is signed by Andreas Fichtner of Dresden, who also created the movement for the largest known enamel clock made by the famous Huaud family.
