Moritz Grossmann, Glashütte i/SA, "BENU", Movement No. 92, Case No. 10092, Ref. 001.A-211-01-1 (100.1010), Cal. 100.0, 41 mm, circa 2012
A striking and unique Grossmann set! The set consists of a Glashütte wristwatch - as new, no. 92 of a limited series of 100 watches - with original box, certificate, operating instructions, magnifying glass and cloth as well as a Moritz Grossmann display stand, an original historic Grossmann micrometer gauge and three volumes "Lehrbuch der Uhrmacherei" (horological textbook) by Claudius Saunier, translated by Moritz Grossmann, Glashütte 1878-1879.
Case: 18k rose gold, original leather strap and original 18k rose gold double deployant clasp. Dial: solid silver.
The BENU takes its name from the ancient Egyptian deity that rises from the ashes like the phoenix in Greek mythology - a watch created by the Moritz Grossmann company that unreservedly reflects and nurtures the heritage of Moritz Grossmann himself - its timelessly elegant, puristic design is clearly inspired by Grossmann’s own personal credo. The heavy polished red gold case, the slim bezel, the solid silver dial and the Arabic numerals come together to present a picture of minimalist elegance - puristic design on the outside conceals traditional excellent craftsmanship and modern finesse inside the case.
