Conrad Felsing, Hof-Uhrmacher, Unter den Linden 20, Berlin, Case No. 753, Height 62 mm, 310 g, circa 1890
A decorative hour repeating miniature carriage clock with 8 day power reserve and half hour / hour self strike - original box
Case: brass, gilt, hunting scenes, translucent polychrome enamelled, engine-turned. Dial: enamel, black. Movm.: rectangular-shaped movement, 1 hammer / 1 gong, 2 barrels, screw compensation balance.
The lovely painting is ornamented with translucent enamel in parts and its bright luminance on the black background tells us of noble pastimes such as hunting. The intricately decorated and gilded case is a fitting frame for this fine miniature.
Conrad Felsing Company
Johann Conrad Völtzing moved from the Black Forest to Berlin in 1820 and changed his name to Felsing. His first shop was at Schlossfreiheit No. 1 in Berlin. The company later had its office at Unter den Linden 20, Berlin’s finest and most elegant boulevard.
