Tag Heuer, Swiss, "Monaco V4", Movement No. 120/150, 39 x 48 mm, circa 2010
The first wristwatch with belt-driven movement and linear oscillating weight - limited edition no. 120 of 150, created for the 150th anniversary of Tag Heuer in 2010 - with original box, certificate, booklet, DVD and operating instructions
Case: platinum, screwed on glazed back, original platinum deployant clasp. Dial: skeletonized.
The Monaco V4 model pays homage to the original "Heuer Monaco" dating from 1969. Tag Heuer invested five years of research before producing the Monaco V4 and launching it on the market; the model is constantly being retested and updated.
The V4 is fitted with four barrels, which are visible through the crystal caseback. The barrels are mounted on ball bearings and designed to resemble the four cylinders of a Formula 1 car engine. The watch is driven with five micro-belts that are controlled by two tensioning devices. The gear belts are made from polyether block amide and have a diameter of only 0.07 mm – which is about the same as a human hair and means that the belts are 10 times thinner than existing, comparable components.
