Case: mahogany. Dial: silvered. Movm.: brass movement, signed, spring detent escapement according to Thomas Earnshaw, "Griesbach"-chronometer balance with 4 weights and 2 screws.
Otto Tietge was born in 1901 in Ellrich/Harz ; in the members’ list of Saxonia, the Glashütte students’ association, he is listed in the year 1921/1922. The movement of this chronometer is signed "Otto Tietge, 1922", and the records show that this is the piece that was submitted as school watch no. 3025 at the German watch- and clockmaking school. According to this entry, ebauche, case and suspension were supplied by the Paul Stübner company in Glashütte.
His drinking name in the Saxonia fraternity was "Tonne" (barrel). In 1925 he got engaged to Ms. Ilse Bilse Fischer.
