Patek Philippe Genève

, Movement No. 5770978, Ref. 5270G-015, Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q, 41 mm, circa 2014

A Geneva wristwatch in near mint condition, with perpetual calendar, leap year indicator, moon phase, chronograph and tachy scale, sold on April 9th, 2014. With original box, original certificate, leather wallet and brochures

Case: 18k white gold, glazed screw back, 18k white gold PP deployant clasp. Dial: silvered opaline dial.

Patek Philippe's Reference 5270 was launched in 2011 at the Basel watch fair; it replaces the famous reference 5970 and comes in a slimmer case. The watch also has an additional day/night indication and its movement bears the "PP" signature, a new quality standard Patek Philippe introduced for their mechanical watches.
This reference 5270 is a true Patek Philippe icon, with perpetual calendar and chronograph; it is in near mint condition and runs perfectly. This particular white gold model from the second series features white gold hands and indexes and a tachymeter scale.
The watch has sub-dials with engine-turned pattern for the auxiliary second and for the 30-minute counter, also a window for the phase of the moon, which is combined with the date indication. Two windows at "12" show the day of the week and the month; two small round apertures between "4" and "5" and "7" and "8" show day/night indication on the left and the leap year on the right. The modern case with its impressive 41 mm size is an eye catcher on the wrist and the fluted, slightly curved lugs make for a fine contrast to the circular case. The sapphire crystal back reveals the mechanical movement; calibre CH 29-535 PS Q is the first in-house calibre Patek Philippe ever used for a perpetual calendar. Earlier versions of the perpetual calendar with a chronograph used a Lemania-based ebauche. Calibre CH 29-535 PS Q has a clutch on the side and a column wheel chronograph with a slim module for the perpetual calendar. The chronograph has an exclusive patented tooth profile for the chronograph wheels, a cap for the column wheel and a minute-counter cam with a slot to prevent abrupt blocking in response to the reset command.
