Case: steel, screw back ref. 16610, screwed "Triplock" winding crown, steel "Oyster" bracelet ref. 93150 with endlinks stamped 501B, clasp Z11, bracelet length 150 mm, total length 195 mm. Dial: black.
Rolex introduced the Submariner in 1954; this diver’s watch was the first to be pressure resistant up to 10 bar, a value that was extended to 20 bar within a year and to 30 bar some time later. In 1959 the Submariner was fitted with the Rolex crown protection and in 1966 Rolex produced the first model with a date under the typical Cyclops lens. The Submariner has always been fitted with an inhouse-produced automatic movement and is one of the most famous and most popular watches - and at the same time one of the most copied and most counterfeit models - worldwide.
