A very fine Berlin rococo enamel snuff box with gold trimmings and camaieu painting
Case: white enamel on copper, engraved gold relief pattern, translucent gold enamel decoration and crimson camaieu painting, gold mounting. All sides decorated with partly translucent enamel flower bushes, foliate scrolls and rocailles. Slightly domed lid with a painting of Minerva, goddess of war, sitting in front of an oak tree; in the background a mountain monastery and military equipment. Wave gold mounting with volute-decorated gold opening bar. Inner lid with polychrome enamelling: fishing on a river, a town in the background. Inserted white enamel floor with green flowers and wave gold mounting, detachable; central handle.
