A very fine, heavy, astronomical hunting case pocket watch with chronograph, full calendar and moon phase specially made for Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the ruler of Jodhpur from 1873 until 1895 Case: 18k gold, the cover engraved with the name of the owner and centered with its "champlevé" enamel painted coat of arms; the reverse enamelled with a painted portrait of the Maharaja framed with horse racing scenes; gold dome, pusher for chronograph at "12". Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, subsidiary dials for indications of the weekday, the month and the date, moon age indicatior, cobalt blue enamelled golden moon phase disc with gold moon and stars, signed, blued spade hands. Movm.: 4/5 plate movement, frosted, gilt, signed, screwed chatons, English lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance.
