A gentleman's fine pocket watch with cylinder escapement
Case: silver, polished, large lateral hinge. Dial: enamel, radial Arabic numerals, gold Fleur-de-Lys hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, signed, chain/fusee, round conical pillars, cylinder escapement, brass escape wheel, three-arm brass balance, pierced balance bridge.
Jörgen Jürgensen (1748-1811)
He was the father of the renowned watchmaker Urban Juergensen; he started a watchmaking factory in Kopenhagen in 1775 and went into partnership with Isaac Larpent in 1780. From then on the company operated under the name "Larpent & Juergensen" in Roskilde.
