A heavy, representative and large pair-cased half quarter repeating verge pocket watch with hour self strike


Case: outer case - 22K gold, à goutte, finely engraved and pierced edges, large lateral hinge. Inner case - 22K gold, circular hand-engraved foliate decoration, pierced band, engraved grotesque face at "6", engraved landscape at "12", rear bell, case maker's punch mark "JC" (Joseph Carpenter, Blue Anchor Alley, Bunhill Row, London, entered October 17, 1774), pusher for repetition via pendant, signed silver movement protection cap. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, gold "Poker & Beetle" hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, signed, chain/fusee, barrel, 3 hammers, conical pillars, three-arm steel balance, very finely engraved pierced balance cock with mascaron, set diamond endstone.
