A rare, almost as new decimal pocket tachometer calibrated to measure 100 seconds every second, for calculating speed in cilometres per hour; sweep second, minute hand, table - with original box and key; produced for the Madrid Zaragoza & Alicante railway company "MZA" (Compañía de los Ferrocarriles de Madrid a Zaragoza y Alicante), which was at the time the 10th large enterprise in Europe and the 2nd largest in Spain
Case: silver, tiered, polished, engraved monogram "MZA", the tachometer table engraved inside the cover calculated for one kilometer, tachometer bolt and reset slide in the case band. Dial: enamel, Arabic numerals, 10 x 10 seconds track, centre seconds, signed, blued spade hands. Movm.: 1/2 plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, 1 barrel, cylinder escapement, ring balance.
