An exquisite gold enamel snuff box
Case: 18K gold and enamel.
Rectangular box with canted corners. An oval enamel miniature on the lid shows a polychrome pastoral scene in a curved gold frame with chased ornamentation. All sides are decorated with panels with opaque cobalt blue enamel fruits on black ground, surrounded by fine, chased gold frames. The rims and the canted corners have white taille d'épargne foliage scrolls and net pattern on mirror-polished gold.
