An aviator's rare navigation watch of the US Army "Hack Type A11"
Case: steel, push back with military engraving "Property U.S. Army A. C. Watch. Navigation. Hack. Type A11 Serial No. 587 Order No. 42-10905-P Manufacturer's Part No. LEC Weems", bidirectional rotating chromed brass bezel with 60 minutes division. Dial: silvered.
The LeCoultre "Weems" was produced on order of the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). The model was originally designed by naval officer Philip van Horn Weems, who trained Charles Lindbergh among others and was renowned for a number of significant inventions in the aviation field.
