A delightful gold enamel pocket watch "à deux couleurs" with visible balance, cylinder escapement and enamel medallion
Case: 18k gold, chased and engraved, the back with polychrome enamel painted scene, case maker's punch mark "CGT". Dial: gilt, engraved foliate scrolls, eccentric enamel dial. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind.
The back is decorated with a delicate enamel miniature of exquisite quality: A maid is gazing raptly at the lover letter in her hand, while Cupid is leaning over her shoulder to read the letter and at the same time prick her with his love arrow, which he has disguised as a rose.
