A rare tongs micrometer
Case: brass, wooden base. Dial: silver.
There is also a micrometer gauge by E. R. Sieber, created at the German watchmaking school in Glashütte, Saxony. Both instruments are in perfect condition.
E.R. (Rudolf) Sieber trained at the German watch- and clockmaking school in Glashütte around 1893. He lived and worked in Reichenberg in Bohemia (Liberec in the Czech Republic today). Sieber is known to have created a seconds regulator with a zinc compensation pendulum, where the gear wheel and parts of the escapement are positioned at the lower edge of the plates. This regulator was presented at the 1893 anniversary exhibition in Glashütte.
